Water testing

Everything about your free water test

Ask Lucia directly
  • Is the water testing really free?

Yes, our in-home water testing is 100% free with no obligation. We believe you should know what is in your water before making any decision, and there are no hidden fees or pressure to buy anything.

  • How long does the water test take?

A typical water test takes 45 to 60 minutes. Our technician tests multiple aspects of your water quality and explains the results in plain language.

  • How soon can you schedule a water test?

We can typically schedule a test within 2 to 3 business days, often sooner. For urgent concerns, call us and we will do our best to accommodate a same week appointment.

  • What happens during a home visit?

Our technician tests your water, explains the results, answers all your questions, and, if you are interested, shares recommendations on treatment options. There is no pressure, just honest information.

  • Do you test well water, or only city water?

We test both. Well water is checked using the same core measures as city water, plus factors tied to local geology, like iron, manganese, bacteria and nitrates, since it is not treated by a municipal system.

  • Can you test my water for PFAS?

Yes, PFAS screening is part of what we look at during your free water test. New York and New Jersey both regulate PFOA and PFOS in public water, and testing is the only way to know your specific levels at the tap.

  • How do I know if I have hard water?

Common signs include white spots on dishes and fixtures, scale buildup around faucets and showerheads, dry skin and hair after bathing, and soap or detergent that will not lather well. A free test confirms your exact hardness level.

Systems and installation

How our systems work

Ask Lucia directly
  • How long do your systems last?

Our systems are built to last decades. We offer warranties of up to 25 years on select systems, and with proper maintenance, many systems last 20 to 30 years or more.

  • Can I install the system myself?

We recommend professional installation to ensure proper function, keep your warranty coverage in effect, and comply with local plumbing codes. Our technicians complete most installations in 1 to 2 hours.

  • How often do filters need to be changed?

It varies by system and household usage, but most filters need changing every 6 to 12 months. We provide a maintenance schedule and can set up reminders.

  • What if my water quality changes over time?

Water quality can shift due to seasonal changes or infrastructure updates nearby. We offer periodic retesting and can adjust or upgrade your system as needed.

  • How soon can you install my system once I approve a quote?

Once you choose a payment plan and are approved, installation is often scheduled within days. Exact timing depends on the system and your schedule.

  • What areas do you serve?

We serve New York, Rockland, Orange, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and New Jersey, Bergen and Hudson Counties, within a 60 mile service radius.

  • How much does a water treatment system cost?

There is no fixed price. Every system is quoted after your free water test, based on your actual results, your home, and which contaminants or hardness levels need to be addressed. We will walk you through the quote and financing options before you decide anything.

  • What if I cannot pay for a system all at once?

We accept all major credit cards, Visa and Mastercard, and financing is available so you can spread out payments. Ask our team about current options when you review your quote.

  • Do you offer financing options?

Yes, we offer flexible financing options to make water treatment systems affordable for more budgets. Contact us to learn more about the payment plans currently available.

  • Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes, we service and repair all major brands of water treatment systems, even ones we did not originally install.

  • What is the difference between softening and purifying water?

Water softening removes hard minerals, calcium and magnesium, that cause scale buildup and damage appliances. Water purification removes contaminants, chemicals, bacteria and other impurities. Many homes benefit from both, and we will recommend the right combination based on your test results.

  • Will a water system lower my water bill?

The system itself does not reduce water usage, but many customers see savings elsewhere, including a longer appliance lifespan, less soap and detergent use, fewer cleaning products, and fewer plumbing repairs from scale buildup.

  • Do you offer service in Spanish?

Yes, we are proud to offer full bilingual service in English and Spanish. Every consultation, installation and support call is available in both languages.
